'Rivals shoot outlaw' dead in Pabna

A member of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party was shot dead in Pabna's Dhalarchar area on Monday night, police said.

The law enforcers suspect an internal conflict among the party members as the reason behind the murder.

The deceased Miraz Hossain, 20, son of Hasmat Mondol of Ramnarayanpur in Bera upazila of Pabna, was the regional leader of the outlawed party's 'Lal Pataka' faction, police said.

Officer-in-charge of Aminpur Police Station Tazul Huda said a group of outlawed party rivals shot Miraz dead around 9:00pm on Monday on his way home.

Police recovered the body from a field and sent it to the Pabna Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy yesterday morning.

Outlawed party operatives remain active in Dhakarchar area of Pabna's Bera upazila. They killed three policemen in Dhakarchar on July 20 in 2010.
