Provide info on Inu's Balochistan remarks

Islamabad asks Dhaka

Pakistan wants to know in details from Bangladesh about Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu's recent comments on Balochistan during his visit to India.

Bangladesh High Commissioner in Islamabad Tarik Ahasn had a meeting at the Pakistan foreign ministry on Friday in this regard. He conveyed to the Pakistan authority that he would give a feedback after consulting with the Bangladesh foreign ministry, a diplomat told UNB on Sunday night.

Speaking to the Indian daily The Hindu on August 17, Inu said Balochistan was suffering in the hands of Pakistan's military establishment, which had targeted Bangalees in Bangladesh in 1971 and Bangladesh would soon make a policy declaration on Pakistan's human rights abuses in Balochistan.

Meanwhile, a Bangladesh delegation left Dhaka for Islamabad on Sunday to attend the Saarc finance ministers' meeting to be held there this week, said an official.

State Minister for Finance MA Mannan will join the delegation later, the official added.

The next round of Foreign Office Consultation between Bangladesh and Pakistan is likely to be held in Dhaka on September 1-2.
