Zafrullah recovers from Covid-19

Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder and Trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has recovered from Covid-19.

Tests with the kit developed by the Gonoshasthaya Kendra did not find any trace of the coronavirus in his body, Dr Bijon Kumar Sil, lead researcher at Gonoshasthaya Pharmaceuticals, said yesterday.

"I tested Zafrullah Chowdhury with the antigen and antibody kit. It can be said for sure that he has recovered from the disease," he said.

"Enough antibodies have been produced in his body. He can be called healthy now."

Nevertheless, Zafrullah will have to stay at the hospital for another five days due to his kidney problems and the stress he has suffered over the last few weeks.

Mahibullah Khandaker, vice principal of Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, said Zafrullah's breathing was normal with 95 percent oxygen saturation throughout yesterday.

Zafrullah tested positive for coronavirus on May 24.
