Woman raped, murdered in Jashore

A woman was raped and brutally murdered by unidentified criminals in Jashore's Kuchalia village hours after she had gone missing on Sunday evening.

Police recovered her body from a fish enclosure in the village yesterday morning. There were stab wounds in her chest, chin and knees. The body was sent to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy.

Earlier, locals saw the body at the fish enclosure and informed police.

Talking to this correspondent, Sikdar Matiar Rahman, inspector (investigation) of Manirampur Police Station, said, "We recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy. We are yet to identify the killers… We are investigating..."

No one was arrested.
