7 held for rape in N’ganj, Jashore

Law enforcers have arrested six youths for allegedly gangraping a teenage girl in Narayanganj, while a restaurant owner in Jashore was arrested for allegedly raping his employee.

Police arrested Russel, Sujon, Alamin, Robin, Sumon, and Sadat -- residents at Narayanganj’s Fatullah, on Monday night.

When the victim, a worker at a mosquito coil factory, was returning home from work around 6:00pm that day, the youths forcibly took her to an abandoned building nearby and raped her, said police.

In Jashore’s Kotwali area, police yesterday arrested a restaurant owner for allegedly raping a female worker on Monday.

Sohrab Hossain allegedly locked up the victim inside his office and raped her, said police.
