Four killed in Kishoreganj road crash

Four passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others injured when a truck rammed the three-wheeler in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj yesterday morning.

The dead were the driver of the three-wheeler Sharif Mia, 35, its passengers local shoe trader Khokon Mia, 28; Ohid Mia, 38, a farmer and Rajia Khatun, 75, said Syed Zakir Hossain, a sub-inspector of Pakundia police station.

The truck hit the auto-rickshaw on Motkhola-Katiadi Road in Madarkandi area around 8:30am, leaving Sharif and Khokon dead on the spot, the official said.

The two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital, said the SI. The injured passengers were being treated, he added.

Police seized the truck and arrested driver Bacchu Mia, 50, the SI said.

The driver was being interrogated.
