Ex-AL MP Mohammad Ali passes away

Prof Mohammad Ali, former lawmaker of Cox's Bazar-4 constituency, died at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital early yesterday. He was 76.

He left behind his wife, three sons, and a daughter.

Mohammad Ali, also president of Teknaf upazila unit of Awami League, had been suffering from various old-age related diseases, said his son Rashed Mohammad Ali, chairman of Hila Union Parisad in the upazila.

Mohammad Ali started his career as a college teacher. Later, he got involved in politics. He was elected the union parishad chairman five times. He was elected lawmaker from AL in 1996.

Mohammad Ali was buried at his family graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza on Hila Dargah C&B ground.
