Cuet student killed in road crash in city

A student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology was killed when a microbus hit his motorcycle in the capital’s Demra area last night. 

Kamrul Hassan Sunny, 22, was a masters’ student of the university.

He was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died around 8:30pm, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the police outpost at the hospital.

Kamrul recently came to his home in Chittagong Road area, Bachchu said.

His nephew Touhidul Islam was also on the motorcycle when the crash took place near Rani Mahal Cinema Hall. Touhidul was unharmed.

Police were yet to trace the microbus or its driver until midnight.
