Bangabandhu’s health shows remarkable improvement

BANGABANDHU WILL LEAVE CLINIC TOMORROW

Prime Minister Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who underwent a gallbladder operation on July 30, will leave London clinic tomorrow morning, according to a health bulletin issued by his personal physician Dr Nurul Islam today. The bulletin says Bangabandhu has shown remarkable improvement over the last two days. This morning he walked independently from one corner of the corridor to the other. He could, the bulletin adds, be persuaded successfully not to smoke till yesterday. This morning, however, he was allowed to revert to smoking only in moderation.

BHUTTO'S DECISION A VIOLATION OF SIMLA

Pakistan President Bhutto's decision not to recognise Bangladesh at this stage is seen by India as a violation of an understanding at Simla. Indian officials also criticise Bhutto's attempt to secure a Chinese promise to veto Bangladesh's admission into the United Nations.

A report on Sunday Times says the Bangladesh prime minister is 'apparently undisturbed' by the threat of Chinese veto of Bangladesh's application for membership of the UN.

PLEA FOR EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT OF INDUSTRIAL POLICY

Delay in announcement of the country's investment and industrial policy is causing concern among the trade and financial circles. They are of the opinion that the delay is affecting the country's economic and industrial development, which will definitely affect production, employment and buoyancy of the national account.

BULGARIAN HELP IN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OFFERED

Bulgaria offers Bangladesh assistance in the establishment of agricultural workshops and cooperatives and supply of implements for expanding mechanised cultivation, shares Agriculture Minister Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
