National Film Award winners announced

'Oggatonama' named best film of 2016

The National Film Award 2016 winners were announced yesterday with the award for best film going to Tauqir Ahmed's Oggatonama (The Unnamed).

Farida Akter Babita and Akbar Hossein Pathan (Faruk) were awarded lifetime achievement awards at the same.

The Information Ministry released the names of the 2016 winners for their outstanding contribution to the film industry through a notification yesterday.

Afroza Imrose Tisha and Kusum Sikder jointly won the best actress award for the films 'Ostitto' and 'Shongkhochil' respectively. Filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury won the best director award for his film 'Aynabaji' while Chanchal Chowdhury won the best actor award for his role in the same film.

SM Kamrul Ahsan's Gran won the best short film award while Ekattur Media Limited and Independence War Museum jointly won the Best Documentary Film for Janmasathi.

Other winners of the 2016 award are; best supporting actor - Ali Raj (Pure Jay Mon) and Fazlur Rahman Babu (Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe), best supporting actress - Tania Ahmed (Krishno Pokkho), best villain - Shahiduzzaman Selim (Oggatonama), best child actor - Anum Rahman Khan (Shongkhochil), best music director - Emon Saha (Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe), best dance director - Md Habib (Niyoti), best singer - Wakil Ahmed (Darpan Bisorjon), best singer female- Meher Afroz Shaon (Krishno Pokkho), best composer - Gazi Mazharul Anwar (Meyeti Ekehon Kothay Jabe), best lyricist - Emon Saha (Meyeti Ekhon Kothay Jabe), best storywriter - Tauquir Ahmed (Oggatonama), best cinematography - Anom Biswas and GausulAzam (Aynabaji), best script writer - Syeda Rubaiyat Hossain (Under Construction) , best editor - Iqbal Ahsanul Kabir (Aynabaji), best art director-Uttam Guho (Shongkhochil), best cinematographer - Rashed Zaman (Aynabaji), best costume and decoration -Sattar and Farzana San and best makeup man - Manik (Under Construction).
