DSCC medics to give door-to-door flu care

Dhaka South City Corporation is launching a door-to-door primary healthcare service for a fortnight from tomorrow.

The aim is to help people suffering from cold, breathing difficulties and winter flu, said Mayor Sayeed Khokon in a meeting with the corporation's physicians at Nagar Bhaban yesterday.

Doctors would appear at their doorsteps and provide primary health care services if residents needing assistance call 09611000999, he said.

The mayor said city dwellers suffer outbreaks of diseases that come with winter every year.

A team in every ward and a total of 150 medics would be deployed for the campaign on the occasion of Dhaka's first elected mayor Mohammad Hanif's death anniversary.

The number of medics would be increased if need be, he added.
