Cop killed by bullet from colleague's gun

A police constable was accidentally shot dead by his colleague at Sukhi Nilganj Police Lines of Rangamati yesterday.

The dead, Purna Barua, 22, hailed from Raujan of Chittagong.

Purna sustained wounds as a bullet was fired mistakenly from the gun of constable Sourav Barua, 24, around 12:00noon while he was loading it, said Rangamati Superintendent of Police Syed Tariqul Hasan.

He was rushed to Sadar General Hospital with bullet injuries to his waist. He died there around 1:00pm.
