AL men behind import of drugs

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday alleged that ruling Awami League men were importing drugs in the country to destroy the young generation.

“Awami League men are out to spoil the country….They are importing a huge amount of drugs in the country to destroy the young generation. They have spoiled themselves and now want to spoil the society,” she told an iftar programme.

Jatiya Ganatantrik Party, a component of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, hosted the event at the capital's Ladies club.

About harassment of women on public transport, she said such incidents were not common in the past, but now they have increased sharply. The ruling party men are involved in the incidents, claimed Khaleda.

Blasting the government for price hike of essentials, she said people cannot pass their days smoothly even in Ramadan due to the price spiral.
