The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia sent back 93 more Bangladeshi migrant workers on Wednesday as part of a crackdown on undocumented workers in the kingdom.

With the 93, a total of 448 migrant workers returned from the Middle Eastern country in the last seven days.

A Saudia Airlines flight, carrying the migrant workers, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:25pm on Wednesday.

Following their arrival, a support team -- comprising of Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and Brac Migration Programme officials -- arranged food for the returnees and assisted them at the immigration office, officials said.

Saudi Arabian authorities sent back 105 Bangladeshi migrant workers in two separate flights on Tuesday night and early Wednesday.

Some 120 Bangladeshi workers returned from the oil-rich country on Friday night. On October 3, 130 migrant workers returned home from the kingdom.

Shariful Hasan, programme head of Brac Migration Programme, said so far this month, the number of returnee migrant workers from Saudi Arabia stands at 534.
