3 Bangladeshis held over Malaysian youth's murder

Three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested over the murder of an 18-year-old Myanmarese youth in George Town area of Penang state in Malaysia on Tuesday.

Without disclosing the names, George Town Assistant Commissioner of police Mior Faridalathrash Wahid told The Malaysian Star that the three were aged between 31 and 33.

“Policemen from the Air Itam station rushed to the scene after receiving a call about the youth being stabbed on the neck and chest but he was already dead,” he said.

The suspects would be remanded for seven days from today, the report added quoting the official.

Sayedul Islam, labour counsellor at Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, told The Daily Star that they were oblivious of the matter. “We will verify the incident soon and provide legal support,” he added.
