The return of Rosy

Popular actress Rosy Selim is returning to her stage roots, bringing back “Poncho-Nari Akkhyan” to the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy today. The solo play, written by Harunur Rashid and directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim, will see its 24th staging today. 

Rosy Siddiqui has been on the stages of Dhaka for two and a half decades. Beginning her career with Theatre Arambagh, she joined Dhaka Theatre in 1993 and has performed in their acclaimed plays “Hat-Hodai”, “Bonpangshul”, and Dhaboman”. 

Meanwhile, the veteran actress also has a big screen project to her name: noted Indian director Gautam Ghose's “Shonkhochil”. She shot for the film recently, standing in front of Ghose's camera after 22 years, when she debuted in film with “Padma Nodi'r Majhi” (1993). 

The actress, who first came to limelight with TV serial “Jonmobhumi” – with her character Bijli – is also currently working on a TV series, Naresh Bhuiyan's “Regey Gelen Toh Herey Gelen”.
