Star Plus to air Humayun Ahmed's “Aaj Robibar”

Star Plus has greenlighted a series written by the late eminent author Humayun Ahmed. Titled “Aj Robibar,” the series had originally been written for Channel i, after which the channels producers had approached Star Plus with the TV play.

The play will be dubbed in Hindi, and re-titled “Today is Sunday” to cater to an international audience. The promotional video featured actor and wife of the late writer Meher Afroz Shaon. Premiering on October 1, “Today is Sunday” will be aired every Friday and Saturday at 11pm. 

Cast members of “Aaj Robibar” include Meher Afroz Shaon, Zahid Hasan, Aly Zaker, Abul Khayer, Abul Hayat, Suborna Mustafa, Shila Ahmed, and Faruk Ahmed. The actors expressed their gratitude for the opportunity the show has received.

The plot revolves around the day to day activities of an eccentric family headed by a man known as Dadajan (played by Abul Khayer), who along with his children as well as other members of the household keep getting into comical incidents. The show has also been praised for repopularising Hason Raja songs to a younger audience.
