Sani-Moushumi in “Harjit”

Omar Sani and Moushumi are not just two of the biggest film stars of the 90s, but also one of the most successful on-screen couples of Dhallywood. The real life couple has worked in 40 films together so far in the past 22 years, and it looks like they are not ready to call it quits yet. The duo began filming for a new film, “Harjit”, on Thursday. Written by Kashem Ali Dulal and directed by Badiul Alam Khokon, the film will see Moushumi and Sani play a married couple. They were last seen together in Shaheen Sumon's “Sahe Naam'e Golam” in 2009. But it may not be too long before audiences see them on screen together, since another film starring them, “Bhalobashboi To” was recently cleared by the censor board.

About the film, Sani said “The director is working with a lot of sincerity for the film, and I have high hopes about it.” Moushumi meanwhile said “working with Sani has its perks, since I don't have to worry about him during filming; he's right there.”

Sani and Moushumi first paired up in the 1994 Dilip Some-directed “Dola”, and their real-life romance blossomed soon, while filming “Atto-Ohongkar” the same year. Some of their biggest hits include “Prothom prem”, “Mukti'r Sangram”, “Gorib'er Rani”, “Sukh'er Sworgo”, “Ghat-Protighat”, “Lojja” and “Sneher Badhon”.
