Tazin Ahmed passes away

Renowned actor Tazin Ahmed passed away at 4:15 pm yesterday at Regent Hospital due to a cardiac arrest. The news was confirmed by The General Secretary of the Actors' Equity Bangladesh, Ahsan Habib Nasim. The beloved actor was known for making a mark in many fields as a theatre and television actor, journalist, playwright, TV anchor and director in a career that spanned over 15 years. She first came into the limelight with Adekha Bhubon in 2004, directed by Humayun Ahmed. For the past two years, she had been hosting 71 er Shokaal on Ekattor Tv. “I am having a hard time believing this,” says veteran actor Mamunur Rashid. “She acted in numerous plays with my theatre group, Aranyak Nattyadal. I cannot believe she passed away at such a young age.” Media personalities including Azizul Hakim, Masum Reza, Rawnak Hasan and Shahanaz Khushi also expressed their grief on the sudden demise of the actor. Tazin Ahmed's last televised tele-fiction was Noashal, directed by Mir Sabbir. The Daily Star family extends its condolences to the family of the departed soul.
