NABILA juggles anchoring and acting

Nabila Islam began her career in the television industry a mere two years ago, with Imraul Rafat's drama serial, “Calling Bell”. She then starred in Joyonto Rozario's telefilm “Upohar”. From them on, one led to another and now, Nabila is a rising face television in the country.

Along with drama serials, single-episode plays and tele-films, Nabila also regularly anchors various television programmes and models for TVCs. She began her career as an anchor for corporate shows, and slowly moved on to television shows, both live and recorded. Some of her more popular shows are “Somoy Katuk Gaane Gaane”, which was her first television anchoring gig, on Boishakhi Television. She also anchors “Lux Star of the World” on Asian TV, and “Sandalina Roopkotha” on Maasranga Television.

On juggling the careers of an actor and an anchor, Nabila says, “It gets a little difficult at times, especially if they are live shows. Sometimes I have to pick between the two because live shows require you to be absolutely on time, and shooting for serials or even one-hour fictions don't have a fixed times.” She also has on-going drama-serials, such as “Mohaguru” directed by Kaysar Ahmed on Banglavision, and “Home Theatre”, directed by Khairul Papon on Maasranga Television, along with a few more.

This Eid, the audience can see Nabila in a number of Eid specials. She is a cast member in Masud Sezan's six-episode drama-serial called 'Chhotolok'. “The story for 'Chhotolok' is very gripping. This will definitely be a great Eid special. I'm very glad to be a part of it,” she says.

She also worked for another TV play for Eif, by director Mozammel titled “Ei Toh Akash Amader Shopno Purabar”, on Rtv.
