Moushumi Hamid On the grind for Eid

Beauty pageant show Lux Superstar is noted for churning out many debutantes into the world of showbiz. Many go on to successful careers in television and film, while others fall by the wayside in their quest for stardom.

Moushumi Hamid is a personality whose popularity has soared in recent times, marking her out as a respected actor of the current generation. Currently the artiste is gearing up for new ventures for Eid ul Azha.

The actor is cast in the Sumon Anwar helmed “Shesh Porjonto”. Shooting for the play has been completed, and is slated to air on ntv during Eid. The narrative encapsulates the life of a middle class family, where Moushumi Hamid plays the role of an activist.

The actor will glam up for a role in “Nayika”, to be aired by Bangla Vision. Shooting has wrapped up in FDC, and the plot is a rag to riches story where Moushumi plays a young village girl who ventures into the city in the hope of becoming a star.

Also directed by Sumon Anwar, the actor notes how close to home the play is. “This was a very challenging role, and as someone who has aspired to be an actress, the story is very personal for me.”

The actor will also be featured in the director's play titled “Hamida'r Shopno”, for which filming will commence next week.

Currently the actor is in Pabna, on the sets of “Princess Annie”. Directed by BU Shuvo, Moushumi Hamid will don the role of a jatra actor.

“Although the role was quite tough, as an actor I aspire to play unconventional roles. Quality matters more than the quantity of roles for me,” said the artiste .
