Daylong Independence Day programmes on Gtv

Satellite channel Gtv will air a selection of programmes throughout the day today marking the glorious Independence Day. The programming will start with film “Sipahi” at 10:15am. Directed by Kazi Hayat, the film casts Ilias Kanchan, Manna, Champa and Rajib. A special episode of daily programme “Ei Sondhaye” will air at 5:30pm, where Freedom Fighter Abu Shama and wireless operator of the police on March 25, 1971 Shahjahan Miya will recall the turbulent times.

Thespian Mamunur Rashid and former Bangladesh Bank deputy governor Naznin Sultana Nina will narrate events of the 1971 War in a programme titled “Juddhodiner Kotha” at 6:30pm. A talk show titled “Swadhinota'r Protidhoni” will go on air at 6:30pm. Hosted by Nasiruddin Yousuff, celebrated Freedom Fighters Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram, Golam Dastagir Kazi Bir Pratik and Habibul Alam will talk about the Crack Platoon. The day's last programme on the theme is at 11:15pm, and chronicles the history of the killing grounds. Produced by AHM Rajon, it is hosted by Zahir Raihan's son Bipul Raihan.
