Tragedy Polashbari traveling to Kolkata

Theatre troupe Prachyanat's latest production, "Tragedy Polashbari", is set to close the Bratyojon International Theatre Festival in Kolkata. The troupe is taking the play on its maiden foreign trip to the neighboring country tomorrow, where it will be staged on June 10.

The 30th production of the reputed group was premiered on December 30, last year. Written and directed by Azad Abul Kalam, it is based on the true events of the Polashbari tragedy of 2005, when the Spectrum Garments factory collapsed, killing 64 people.

Parvin Sultana Koli, Parvin Paru, Rifat Ahmed Nobel, Md. Rafiq, Pradyut Kumar Ghosh, Shahriar Rana and others are in the cast.
