Pushpitar Mukti' staged by Ensemble Theatre

Ensemble Theatre, a prominent theatre troupe of the town staged "Pushpitar Mukti" at Shilpakala Academy auditorium September 15.

The play aimed at creating awareness about the dangers of early marriage for the girl child, and initiatives needed for child protection.

Written by Joy Saha and directed by SM Wares, the play was staged marking the Gathering of Annual Evaluation of Shishu Forum, organised by World Vision Mymensingh Area Development Programme (ADP).

The cast of the play were Abul Monsur, Siam Hasan, Lal Chand, Masudul Alam and Riadul Islam.

Around 200 underprivileged children of the forum, including World Vision -sponsored children from Mymensingh sadar took part in the programme.

The children also took part in a cultural show that featured songs and dance sequences.

Earlier, a discussion was held.World Vision Mymensingh regional director Dominic Ranjan Purification; Chaitali Rema, manager, World Vision Mymensingh ADP and district cultural officer Arzu Parves addressed the discussion.

For a developed society, we must protect children by creating awareness among their guardians and people from  all sections of society, they opined.
