Teachers stage play in Mymensingh

Trainee teachers at Higher Secondary Teachers Training Institute (HSTTI) in Mymensingh staged a play at the institute auditorium Sunday afternoon.

The play titled "Banglar Daymukti" on War of Liberation and the present situation of the country was written by Shafiqul Islam Khan and directed by Firoz Khanun.

The cast of the play were - Nasreen Begum, Shah Moshfiqur Rahman Milon, Sheikh Jahangir Alam, Shawon Kibria, Rustom Ali, Rasel Ahmed, Bidhyut Chandra Singh, Mujibur Rahman, Monjurul Alam, Sultana Parvin Jhinuk, Nipa Chowdhury, Mahbubur Rahman, AKM Saiful Islam, Sadek Mohammad Aziz, Nazmunnahar Runa and Kamrul Islam. 

Talking to this correspondent, the director of the play said, it was written on Liberation War and the all-out situation after it draws the real picture of the country where the freedom fighters struggle for everyday bread, while anti-liberation forces enjoy a wealthy life. 

The play also depicts the bad impacts of social conditions and student politics, especially in the universities, said the director. The play also speaks out against gender discrimination still prevailing in the society.

Among others, the director of the institute Aziz Ahmed Sadeque Reza, its additional director Narayan Chandra Bhowmik, deputy directors-Md Nurul Islam and Tahmina Rima Khan while assistant directors-Safiqul Islam, Halim Sarwar, Nayeema Nasreen and Ajit Kumar Sarker were present.
