Padatik to premiere “Gunjan Bibi'r Pala” today

Reputed theatre troupe Padatik Natya Sangsad is set to premiere their 41st stage production "Gunjan Bibi'r Pala" at the Dr. Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of the Mahila Samity today.

The play, written and directed by Sayik Siddiqui, casts Mominul Haq Dipu, Moshiur Rahman, Sayeeda Shamsi Ara, Md. Imran Khan Salman Shubho Chowdhury, Zinia Azad and others. Sanjib Kumar Dey has designed stage, Atiqul Islam Joy has designed lights, Sayeeda Shamsi Ara has designed costumes, props and choreography and the music for the play has been done by Hamidur Rahman Pappu and Monir Dewan.

The play is designed like the traditional pala – a folk theatre form of rural Bengal. The technical staging of the play was held at the same venue on October 23, after four months of being in production.
