Chinese Cultural Month 2019 celebrated at BSA

As a part of celebrating the Chinese Cultural Month 2019, theatre artistes from Bangladesh and China collaborated recently, to stage the plays Chitra and Rath Yatra by Rabindranath Tagore, at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).

Directed by Hou Jue, Chinese students from Peking University staged Chitra. Later in the evening, renowned theatre troupe, Loko Natya Dol presented Rath Yatra, which was directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director General, BSA. The Chinese students also staged Chitra at the University of Dhaka premises prior to the BSA event.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs, K M Khalid and Secretary Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal were present during the programme and applauded the initiative. Through this cultural exchange, the brilliance of Rabindranath Tagore in our culture was presented and shared with the visiting Chinese students.

The joint collaboration to promote the friendship between Bangladesh and China, was arranged by BSA, the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, Peking University, University of Dhaka and the Bangladesh-China Friendship Center.
