Bangladeshi monologues enthrall international audience

Recently, two acclaimed Bangladeshi monologues were staged in India and Korea. The diverse audience was enthralled by the performances. Mannan Heera's Lal Jomin, based on the struggle of a woman during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971 and its aftermath, was staged at the Bijoy Utshab in Seoul. It is performed by Momena Choudhury and produced by Shunyan Repertory.

The Bijoy Utshab was organised by the High Commission of Bangladesh to South Korea. On the other hand,  Rubayet Ahmed's Gohon Jatra was staged at a theatre festival in Assam titled, Under the Shal Tree, which was initiated by the late Indian talented thespian Shukracharya. Gohon Jatra revolves around the global political dynamics, violence and dangers of intolerance, the universal aspiration for freedom of speech and diverse identity as well as the desire for peace and humanity. It is enacted by Shamsi Ara Syka and produced by Padatik Natya Sangsad (TSC). Sudip Chakroborthy is the director of both the monologues.
