“Droho” staged in Bogra

A tribute to Selim Al Deen

The 63rd staging of drama "Droho" was held by Bogra Theatre, one of the leading cultural organisations of Bogra district, in association with college theatre and Bangladesh Gram Theatre at Shaheed Titu Millenayatan in Bogra town this week. It depicted the struggle of the people living on the banks of river Jamuna in Shariakandi upazila of the district. The event marked the 66th birth anniversary of eminent thespian Selim Al Deen.

The programmes were arranged by Selim Al Deen Pathshala of the town. 

The drama followed a painting competition and free discussion of the thought, activities of the great personality. 

"Droho" was written and directed by Toufique Hasan Moyna. In the drama, the inhabitants of the char area have to fight against the harshness of the nature, natural disasters and sometimes against the clutches of the social dominators and religious fundamentalists of the area. It also highlighted the struggle of freedom fighting of the country and sacrifice of the brave souls of the soil. 

Tonmoy, Ovi, Shajal, Faruque, Alok, Sabuj, Papri, Zinia, Nishu, Raka, Shovon, Tapon, Millat, Osman, Bidhan Roy, 

Bidhan and Bappa played various roles in the play. 

Hundreds of drama lovers of all ages enjoyed the drama.
