Tahsan is one of the most popular singers in Bangladesh, establishing his reputation since the release of his debut solo album. Since then he has seen a successful career in acting and modeling as well. His versatility does not stop there; the singer is also a lecturer at a private university. Today marks the star's birthday, and he shared some tidbits about his life with The Daily Star.

How do you plan to spend your birthday this year?

Tahsan: I plan to share the day with my fans, by vlogging (video blogging) the day's antics through YouTube, in hopes of getting closer to them. Their support is very important to me, and I wish to show them gratitude in some measure.

Which year has been the most memorable birthday celebration for you?

Tahsan: It would be the one that occurred 12 years ago, following the release of my debut solo album. Many fans had gotten to know my home address, and I received much love from them. Habib and I were the youngest celebrities in the industry, and I received so many gifts at the door that the security guard had to turn many people away in the end. I also received a plethora of text messages in my phone. I won't ever forget that year.

What if a fan wishes to meet you on your birthday?

Tahsan: I will try my best to fulfill my fan's wishes, but sadly I won't be able to fulfill every single one. This year a fan had come all the way from Feni to meet me. Since he has traveled so far to just meet me, I cannot deny his wish. I look forward to seeing him.

What do you love most about being a celebrity?

Tahsan: What I love most is my fan's appreciation and love for me and my work. There is nothing bigger than people's love.

Do you enjoy cutting cake on your birthday?

Tahsan: For me it is not really about the cake, and the cake is a symbol of love. Last year, my students insisted on getting a cake for me, and they would have even if I had resisted.

Are you acting less frequently nowadays?

Tahsan: I have been acting less frequently since I have not come across any projects that I would be interested to take up. I plan to take a year off from acting and focus more on my vlogs.

Is it true that you are now the brand ambassador for a university?

Tahsan: Yes, it is true. I am now the brand ambassador for the Canadian University of Bangladesh, as well as for Grameen Phone.
