STARS DAZZLE AT LUX-RTV STAR AWARDS

The sixth Lux-Rtv Star Awards was held in the capital's International Convention City Bashundhara this Friday, in a dazzling gala featuring glamourous performances and recognition of talents of our television industry.

This year's Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon eminent thespian Ramendu Majumdar. 

Shahadat Hossain won the Best Actor award in the Single Episode Drama and Telefilm category, for Eid drama “Mon Tar Shonkhini”. Noted actor Tariq Anam Khan won two Best Actor titles in two different categories, while Bipasha Hayat won the Best Actress award.

For the first time this year, the ceremony handed out a Lux Emerging Star Award. Actress-model Nilanjana Neela won the award.

The star-studded event saw a number of glitzy performances interjected between the award handovers.

Sabina Yasmin set off the performances with two hit numbers, and Sadia Islam Mou followed it up in style, with a grand entrance and marvelous dance pieces.

Other performers of the night included Bidya Sinha Mim, Bappi, Purnima and Sajal. The programme came to a close with a concert by Miles.

Apart from showbiz celebrities, a number of noted personalities, including ministers, lawmakers and Dhaka North mayor Annisul Huq also attended the programme.

Lux has been the title sponsor of the awards for the last three years. The other co-sponsors are Ifad Multi Products Limited, Danish Simla Tea, Madhumati Bank Ltd, Symphony, National Life Insurance Company Limited and Mercantile Bank Limited.
