Following on the trails of Wacken Open Air in Germany, 2019, Trainwreck, ended on a rather high note, along with their Kolkata and Nepal tour. Groove thrash metal band Trainwreck added yet another accolade to their list of achievements as they won the Global Metal Apocalypse (GMA) award 2019 as the Breakthrough Asian Metal Band.

Ekram Wasi, the guitarist of the band, spoke about their nomination process for the award. “The GMA body monitors online based news on bands performing in different subcontinents and then comes up with a list of rising and promising names from each subcontinent,” he explains. “GMA award surprised us with this nomination. They monitored our activities and later sent us our voting form.  Our fans had one month to vote for us!”

Trainwreck, currently featuring Abir Ahmed Shuvo on vocals, A K Rahul and Ekram Wasi on guitars, Habibullah Farhan on bass, and Minhaj Ahmed Mridul on drums, is set for their Philippines tour in 2020.
