The show must go on: Jaago Ucchashe Eid Anonde

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, our life is well acquainted with the new normal, to maintain the next best mode of livelihoods. Amid the economic downturn, different sectors are trying their best to cope by introducing alternate strategies, following the nationwide shutdown.

Food, cloth and shelter businesses will eventually thrive in the coming days, with people visiting malls once again. But the same might not happen to movie theatres or concerts. The entertainment industry is facing the darkest of hours, with the crisis affecting not only the leading talent pool, but also the crew members, vendors, studios, spot boys and others.

Asif Khan, a professional singer, who makes a living with fortnightly performances in small corporate events, spoke about grappling with the crisis. "''Against all odds, I chose my passion. But the current situations are questioning my inspiration. Majority of the shoots were also paused with the news of the outbreak," he said.

On the other hand, people were prepared to miss the regular Eid programmes and dramas on different TV channels this year.  Under such circumstances, IPDC Finance Limited has arranged Jaago Ucchashe Eid Anonde, an exclusive Eid programme, live from their official Facebook page, from May 26 to 28, at 10 pm every day.

With Eid celebrations taking place inside homes, Momimul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Limited, along with celebrated singer Partha Barua and Rashid Khan, CEO of Creato, initiated the three-day live Eid programme with the country's most sought-after artistes. The line-up includes Bappa Mazumder, Partha Barua, Samina Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Rumana Rashid Ishita, Shafin Ahmed and others.

"Challenges that our industry is faced with right bow should not be underestimated," said Partha Barua. "We hope to help our community survive amid the crisis and encourage healthy artistic competitions. We are pleased to have IPDC by our side."

 In addition, Mominul Islam spoke about the programme. "We also need 'emotional protective equipment' to endure the mental impacts of this crisis, across all sectors. Such initiatives are a collaboration of passion, perseverance, and a strong sense of purpose," he said.

 IPDC intends to send out the message that regardless of all difficulties, the beauty of life should always be professed -- the show must go on.
