The students of Swapnanagar Bidyaniketon, a school for underprivileged children in the Patiya upazila in Chattogram, performed at the Fulki auditorium in the city on Friday evening.

During the first phase of the programme, they sang two chorus songs, performed a dance routine and staged a drama recital of Sukumar Ray's poem Jiboner Hishab.

The convener of the school, Dhrubojyoti Hore, highlighted the story behind the establishment of the school and discussed the school's policy of 'active learning'. “Active learning involves gaining practical knowledge alongside theoretical knowledge, going beyond the boundaries of the classroom”, explained Suja Al Mamun, the school's principle.

In the second phase of the programme, there was a Q&A session followed by a dramatic interpretation of Rabindranath Tagore's Tota-Kahini by the students.
