Solo painting exhibition by Ismail Hossain Selim

A two-day solo painting exhibition, Oitijjer Sandhane, by noted artist Ismail Hossain Selim, recently concluded in Tangail.

Ruhul Amin Kajol entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 1996 for the longest street painting, which was created in the coastal Swedish city of Landskrona in 1994. The artist inaugurated the exhibition at Tangail Municipality Auditorium on Friday.

Around one hundred delectable paintings and calligraphic works by Selim, highlighting the history and tradition of the district, were presented at the exhibition.

Tangail Sangrahashala, a non-government organisation working towards preserving the rich history and tradition of the district, sponsored the exhibition.

A discussion meeting was organised on this occasion, where Mirza Masud Rubol, General Secretary of the organisation, presented the welcome speech.

Tangail-5 lawmaker Sanwar Hossain, noted poet Bulbul Khan Mahbub, former Bangladeshi ambassador in Spain, Anwarul Alam Shahid, Mayor of Tangail Municipality Jamilur Rahman Miron, Tangail Club Secretary Harun-or-Rashid and Tangail Press Club President Zafar Ahmed spoke at the discussion.

Abul Kalam Mostofa Labu, General Secretary of NGO Federation in Tangail, presided over the discussion, while Prof Tarun Yusuf moderated the event.
