I worked with Tele Samad in the film Jibondhara. He was a professional and passionate man, who truly loved his work. He always made everyone laugh on the sets. I also teamed up with him for Mejo Didi, a television serial that I directed. It was based on the novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. We had a great time shooting for the serial in Manikganj. Tele Samad was also skilled at painting. I am an admirer of his artworks as well. May he rest in peace.

Tele Samad was a dear friend of mine. I would say that one would be hard-pressed to find someone who contributed as much to Bangla films as he did. Our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to his assistance when he fell ill. He expressed his gratefulness for that to me once. He was a great artiste and an even better human being. I feel like I have lost a brother.

Having worked with Tele Samad in over a 100 films, I shared a great bond with him. We went to many countries together, including the USA, Japan and Nepal for outdoor shoots of our films. Tele Samad was an all-rounder. He could pull of every type of character, not just comic roles. I am still in a state of shock. His demise is a great loss for our industry.

Although he is younger than me, Tele Samad and I started off our film careers at the same time. Whenever we met, he was always very warm and respectful towards me. We worked together in several films. On the sets, he would always cheer everyone up with his humour. He was remarkable at everything he did, be it acting or performing on the stage. He will be missed dearly.
