Remembering Rajib on his 16th death anniversary

Wasimul Bari Rajib, popularly known as Rajib, was the most powerful actor to grace Bangladeshi cinema with his rendition of negative roles for three decades.

On November 14, 2004, the actor lost his battle against cancer and left his loved ones and fans in tears.

Rajib began his career with theatre. Before stepping into the cinemas he also worked for BTV and Bangladesh Betar.

The talented actor made his debut with the film "Rakhe Allah Mare Ke" in the early 80s. He was featured as the lead actor in the film "Khokonshona".

The four-time National Film Award winning artiste did not look back since he started gaining accolades for playing negative roles. At one point in time, he became the only preferred name when it came to villains.

Rajib's daring performance in Kazi Hayat directorial "Danga" will remain as one of his best works.

He acted in more than 300 movies in his career. Some of his remarkable works are -- "Bhaat De", "Keyamot Theke Keyamot", "Ontore Ontore", "Bikkhobh" and "Hangor Nodi Grenade", among others.

He also served as the Managing Director of FDC.
