Ocean Dance Festival to hit shores in November

Ocean Dance Festival is going to organise their bi-annual event from November 22 - 25, 2019, in Cox’s Bazaar. The four-day show by the beach, will comprise of different dance forms. World Dance Alliance – Asia Pacific (WDA-AP’s Bangladesh chapter), will be holding their annual general meeting and network meetings at the event. The organisations will be jointly hosting the event for the first time, according to a press release.

Around 200 dancers, teachers, researchers and choreographers from 15 Asian countries will participate at the festival. The logo of Ocean Dance Festival 2019 was unveiled in a press conference, on Monday.

Lubna Marium

“Our aim is to showcase an array of performances by talented Bangladeshi dancers who truly deserve an opportunity to present their work on a prestigious global platform,” said Lubna Marium, the Vice President of the South Asian chapter of WDA and the Chairperson of Nrityajog.

Matra and Channel i are the media partners of the festival. It is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry and the Tourism Board. The Drama and Theatrical Department of the University of Chittagong is an academic associate of the event.
