Morshed Mishu’s captivating ‘The Global GOD FORBID Challenge’

After garnering immense popularity among the global art community with his creative project ‘The Global Happiness Challenge’, where he took tragic photographs and turned them into ‘happy art’, Morshed Mishu’s next venture is nothing short of intriguing. Titled, ‘The Global GOD FORBID Challenge’, this new series, depicts harrowing photographs, only this time, the subject is replaced by a political leader.

“On the occasion of the first anniversary of my project ‘The Global Happiness Challenge’, I launched ‘The Global GOD FORBID Challenge’ series on my website,” informed Mishu. “The idea struck me when I realised that political leaders who conduct wars, do not taste the suffering. It is the simple civilians like you and I, who have to succumb to the horrific tragedy. Through this endeavour, I tried to portray a situation, whereby if global leaders were in the shoes of war victims, what would they do?”

Mishu also clarified the fact that the use of the word ‘GOD FORBID’ was to emphasise that he is against the concept of war and the tragedy it entails, for whoever it may be. As he has completed the first with Donald Trump in his latelst series, Mishu plans to work on the Rohingya issue for his next artwork. Earlier this year, out of two Bangladeshis, the talented artist was also named in the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia list of 2019.
