The coronavirus outbreak has seen cities and countries across the world enforce or recommend stringent self-isolating and quarantine measures in an attempt to combat the virus. Television and film artistes are taking individual initiatives to help those who are most affected by the pandemic.

National Film Award-winning actor Bidya Sinha Mim, who has been in self-isolation since the countrywide shutdown began, has been helping underprivileged communities during these tough times. She distributed food and necessary goods to 500 destitute families in Rajshahi.

"Rajshahi is my maternal uncle's home. I have spent some of the most wonderful days of my life there and the place is very close to my heart. This is why I wanted to help people in Rajshahi," shares the actor. "I am fortunate enough to be able to help people in need and I will continue to do so in the future."

Mim is keeping herself busy with books, movies, cooking, gardening and other activities as she self-isolates. She enjoys spending quality time with her parents and helping around the household. "Though I am having a good time, I feel helpless about the current crisis we are going through," she shares.

For the first time, Mim spent Pohela Boishakh at her home. She celebrated the day with her family, enjoying traditional home-cooked dishes. "I would like to request everyone to stay at home and not go out unless it is absolutely necessary," concludes Mim.
