On this day one year ago, we lost Tazin Ahmed, one of the most beloved actors of the Bangladeshi entertainment industry. She completed her post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka.

Starting out her career in 1996, Tazin made her mark in many fields – ranging from television and theatre to journalism, writing, anchoring and directing. She was a part of Theatre (Aarambag), Natyojon and Aranyak Natyadal. The actor last appeared in the tele-fictions, Bideshi Para and Neer Khoje Gangchill.

“It is disheartening that Tazin lost her life at such a young age,” says Mohan Khan, the director of Neer Khoje Gangchill. “She was a wonderful actor and human being.”

Noted thespian Mamunur Rashid spoke about Tazin’s memorable performance in the play, Mayur Shinghashon, a production of Aranyak Natyadal, the theatre company he spearheads. He stated that she was a dedicated actor who loved performing on the stage.

“Tazin was one of my favourite co-actors,” says Mir Sabbir, who worked with her in Noashal. “I will always have immense respect for her as an artiste.”
