KAUSAR AHMED CHAUDHURY

Celebrated astrologer Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury, has been a household figure in Bangladesh for decades for his regular horoscope readings on Ajker Rashi, Prothom Alo. However, a surprising amount of people are unaware about the fact that the renowned astrologer is also a legendary lyricist, having written many timeless classics for some of Bangladesh's most iconic musicians -- LRB, Miles, Samina Chowdhury, Lucky Akhand, Shakila Smriti, Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, amongst many others. The lyrics to Ayub Bachchu's unforgettable melody Rupali Guitar and Samina Chowdhury's glorious number Kobita Pora Prohor were both penned by Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury. 

Unfortunately, the ever so versatile personality has been battling health complications for nearly a year and a half now, and was taken to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital's emergency room last Friday night as he fell severely ill. He was diagnosed with kidney problems paired with blood and lung infections, and is currently undergoing treatment. “His doctors said he's responding to the medication but is still not entirely out of danger. He has already suffered from two strokes in the past year. We can only hope for everyone's prayers at this difficult time.” said Kausar Ahmed Chaudhury's son, Prateek, in a conversation with The Daily Star.
