It was inaugurated by prominent artists Hashem Khan, Biren Shome, renowned writer Muntasir Mamun and poet Akhtaruzzaman Chiru on January 24.  As a part of the festival, an exhibition, featuring 32 watercolour paintings by 31 artists, was dedicated to eminent artist Debdas Chakraborty.

Artists Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Biren Shome, Alokesh Ghosh, Ranjit Das, Tania Akhter, Hamim Sajal, Sunanda Borman and Soikat Hossain, among others, displayed their paintings at the show.

Coming from 11 districts across the country, 85 painters participated in the festival. The event also had art camps and a watercolour workshop. Each day, 10 participants took part in the camps.

Joler Dhara, founded in 2010, has organised eight workshops in the divisional cities and has arranged six art camps, three art trips, and four exhibitions so far.

On the last day, the exhibition hall was full of young artists, setting up their canvases to learn the tricks and turns of watercolour from their trainers.

“We aimed to bring out young talented artists across the country through this festival,” shared Shohag Parvez, the director of Joler Dhara.
