Jaya Ahsan’s mother Rehana Maswood wins ‘Ratnagarva’ Award

Jaya Ahsan,throughout her illustrious career, has won a lot of accolades. However, this time was special for the actor, as her mother won the coveted 'Ratnagarva' award on International Women's Day this year.

In the 7th edition of the programme arranged by Bengal Chamber of Commerce, mothers of accaimed novelist Srijit Bandyopadhyay, singer Jayati Chakraborty, designer Sabyasachi Mukhapadhyay were also honoured alongside Rehana Maswood, for their tireless contributions in making the esteemed personalities what they are today.

"I have received many awards, but this will certainly be special to me," says Jaya Ahsan, who just received the 'Tumi Ananya" award in Kolkata the previous day. "My mother has always been there for me, so I am very happy that she has deservedly been honoured."

Rehana, on the other hand, is proud of Jaya's achievements.. "Because of my daughter's achievements, I have received this award. I am grateful to the authorities."

Jaya Ahsan is awaiting the release of her upcoming films Bhootpuri, Bini Shutay and Ardhangini in Kolkata.
