The Embassy of Japan and Japan Foundation, in cooperation with Bangladesh National Museum, organised 'Japanese Film Festival 2021' on March 5 and 6 at the Bangladesh National Museum for the first time in two years.

Featuring contemporary Japanese films, the free-for-all event showcased various aspects of Japanese culture, history and life, said the Embassy of Japan in a statement today.

Participants of the festival enjoyed award winning films, such as "Oshin" directed by Togashi Shin, "Tagore Songs" by young director Sasaki Mika, "Finding Calico" by Fukagawa Yoshihiro, "Mentai-Piriri" by Eguchi Kan and "The Takatsu River" directed by Nishikori Yoshinari.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Ito Naoki said, "I hope this film festival will provide opportunities for greater cultural exchanges and cooperation between Japan and Bangladesh."
