Aditi Rahman Dola has proven her mettle from time to time as an outstanding young talent. The artiste, known for her mellifluous performances in songs like "Jochona", "Tumi Chara" and "Mon Doriya", has recently released "Dujone Dujonar", a song in which she displayed both her vocal and acting chops. We have a hearty chat with Dola for more.

"Dujone Dujonar" was lovely. How much did you enjoy making the song?

Thank you very much! We started talking about it a year ago, when Chishti Iqbal bhai came up with the concept of the song. Since March is the month for sacrifice, it is only fitting that we did a song about sacrifice – what a woman and her family goes through when she loses her partner. The song was written by Zawad Khalid, and composed by Menon & Ripu.

This song is dedicated to all the brave and patriotic men and women of the Armed Forces of Bangladesh, who dedicate their lives for our security and well being.

The shooting took place Luxury Resort, and Prito Reza was the music director. Even though he is incomparable when it comes to photography, this was his first music video. We had a blast shooting the video, and I have many memories from the sets.

Would you share some memorable moments from the shoot?

One moment, in my opinion, defined the entire music video. I was nervous before the scene where I was supposed to cry, and my make-up artist went to get glycerin to help me do so.

However, I wanted to do it on my own accord, I actually broke down in tears in front of the camera. The artist came back with glycerin only to find the cameras rolling and the shot already underway!

Crying at will in front of the camera takes quite some acting talent. Did you ever consider taking acting as a second profession?

Funny that you mentioned that, as many offers have already come my way. However, I have no plans to start acting as of yet. I am working hard on my music, and it will be that way for the foreseeable future.

Which projects are you working on at the moment?

There are many exciting projects undeway, which I unfortunately cannot mention. However, I will say that these will be the best work in my career.

Which of your own tracks are you the most proud of?

I am very proud of "Jochona", because that song helped me show off my vocal skills and was appreciated by the listeners throughout the country. "Mon Doriya" will always be very special to me, as I got the opportunity to collaborate with an internationally acclaimed artiste like Papon.

What do you hope to achieve in your musical career?

If you look at music industries internationally, you will see that musicians tend to be complete performers, and referred to as brands. Artistes like Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lady Gaga have all mastered an all-round persona, and I want to do the same – that is a dream that I hope to achieve.
