Film producer Mozammel Haque Sarker passes away due to COVID-19

Film producer Mozammel Haque Sarker passed away on June 1, at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at the age of 56. He was infected with COVID-19.

Mozammel Haque was recently admitted to a hospital at Uttara, due to breathing difficulties. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to DMCH, where he breathed his last.

Bangladesh Film Producers-Distributors Association President Khorshed Alam Khosru conveyed his condolences to the producer's family and friends.  "Mozammel Haque Sarker was a kind-hearted person who was loved and respected by all. He was an integral part of our association," he added.

Mon Boshe Na Porar Table E, Panku Jamai, Rongbaaz, Rajababu and Jamai 420 are some of the notable films he produced, under the banner of Bhawal Pictures. He gained immense popularity with Mon Boshe Na Porar Table E, featuring Riaz and Shabnur.

He made his debut in production with the film, Tumi Chara Bachi Na, directed by Mostafizur Rahman Manik. Shabnur, Shakib Khan, Apu Biswas, Riaz and many others have worked with the producer over the years.

He was buried at Monipur in Hotapara, Gazipur.
