Emon on the success of ‘Password’

Over the years, Emon has carved a space for himself in the entertainment industry with his magnificent aptitude as an actor. He is also popular in the fashion scene with his involvement in modelling. Besides films, Emon is also seen in tele-fictions every now and then. His latest venture was with Shakib Khan in the film ‘Password’, which opened nationwide with much success during the festive season of Eid. The versatile actor talks to The Daily Star regarding his recent endeavours.

How has the response been after the release of ‘Password’?

To be honest, I am absolutely overwhelmed with the positive response for Password from all over Bangladesh! The producers are very happy with the film. Along with all the viewers, they too, praised my role in Password.

Have you been to any of the movie theatres to watch the film or for promotional purposes?

Yes, I have. I went to Blockbuster at Jamuna Future Park to watch Password. It was great to see the audience enjoy and appreciate the film. I have also been to Modhumita hall to find a similar response. I intend to visit a few more theatres soon.

Did any of your family members go to the cinema hall to watch the film?

Both my parents went to the theatre to watch the film and they liked it. As my wife is an active critic of my work, she also appreciated my work in Password. After returning home from the cinema, my child cried after seeing me and said that my acting was amazing. This is more than I could have asked for.

What role did you portray in ‘Password’? 

I play Rusho, Shakib Khan’s autistic brother, in the film. It is a heart touching story, and my role is unlike any that I have undertaken before. The viewers have never seen this side of me on screen. It was a challenging role and I am happy that people are iking my work.

What new films are in your list?

I am working on a film called Shahoshi Joddha, helmed by Sadek Siddiqi. Another project I am involved with is Amar Shidhdhanto, directed by Md Aslam. I am also working on a film adapted from a story by Rabindranath Tagore. Directed by Taju Kamrul, the film is titled Bela Obela.
