Do your best with playing my father's role: Prime Minister to Arifin Shuvoo

The shooting of the much anticipated film on the life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will begin from January 19.

Before that, some of the cast members of the film, including Arifin Shuvoo, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, and Nusraat Faria Mazhar, were invited to Gonobhaban, the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on January 9.

"She invited us as the daughter of Bangabandhu and not as the Prime Minister," Arifin Shuvoo told The Daily Star, over the phone. "Sheikh Rehana Apa was also there, we spent a few hours with them. They shared some stories of the Father of the Nation with us. When we were about to leave Gonobhaban, Sheikh Hasina Apa told me, "do your best with playing my father's role!"

A workshop on the film will be held in Mumbai from January 19. The shooting will run until April 10. This Bangladesh-India joint venture, commemorating Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 100th birth anniversary, will be directed by noted Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal.
