Chhayanaut’s homage to the National Poet

Prominent cultural organisation Chhayanaut organised a musical soiree to pay homage to our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, in observance of his 43rd death anniversary.

The event took place at Chhayanaut’s main auditorium in Dhanmondi on Saturday evening, with a choral performance of the song Jago Amrita Piyashi Chita by artistes of the organisation.

The singers also rendered three other choral songs, Eshechhi Tobo Dwar-e, Bedonar Sindhu Monthon Shesh and Neerondhro Meghe Meghe at the programme.

Among the soloists, Moumita Sarkar Mumu, Shukla Paul Setu, Kaniz Husna Ahammadi, Arpita Chakrabarti and Toma Sarkar sang the numbers, Hey Priyo Amarey Dibina Bhulite, Bol Rey Joba Bol, Keno Ano Phulo-Dor, Ogo Ontorjami and Ghumiye Gechhe Shranto Hoye, respectively.

Abhijit Kundu, Popy Akhter, Sushmita Debnath Suchi, Shekhar Mondol, Sudipta Shuvo, Sushmita Das and Khairul Anam Shakil also performed at the event.

Renowned journalist and poet Zaheed Reza Noor recited Nazrul’s poem Sarbohara. Noted elocutionist Krishti Hefaz also presented a solo recitation.

The musical soiree concluded with a group presentation of the National Anthem.
